With basic needs and everyday necessities of life in The Rock taken care of by a multitude of highly intelligent autonomous machines called SAMs, humans are unencumbered to live their Best Life in the utopic virtual world of Set Reality—blissfully unaware the competitive environment and lack of physical connection slowly imprisons them in a crippling anxiety. That is, until 11-year old Thea Anders and her two brothers, Res and Horus Anders, unwittingly discover their father Seth’s deadly secret.
Forced to flee their home, friends and comfortable lives to embark on a dangerous journey to find life outside of The Rock, the triplets’ survival requires re-learning in the “real world” how to do everything they thought they knew. If they can survive certain death from mutated killer cockroaches and an elite army of warfare machines with the help of their new friends, maybe they can learn to believe in themselves and each other, overcome their deepest fears and discover the truth they seek to reveal it to the world.
Truth Bomb is the first novel in a series of five called The Rock. Set in a fictional mountain village of the same name in a post-apocalyptic, high-tech and mostly virtual world, the novel explores the fragility of the mental models we use to make sense of our lives and how everything can change in an instant when they are upended.
